Policies and Procedures

For the protection of both you and your family and me and mine amid COVID-19, I will have numerous new policies and procedures in place. I ask that you prepare for your visit with the same care and consideration as you would before visiting a cherished grandparent: the next client I see may very well be one! Please take the time to review the new guidelines and protocols below you can expect on your next visit. I appreciate your cooperation to make things as safe as possible for everyone.

Getting a massage is a medium risk activity. If you are part of the vulnerable population who are at a higher risk for severe complications with COVID-19 including those who are 65 years or older or have these underlying health conditions - chronic lung disease, moderate to severe asthma, heart conditions, compromised or suppressed immunity, severe obesity (body mass index of 40 or higher), diabetes, chronic kidney disease, liver disease - you may need/ want to refrain from massage therapy for now. Please read the COVID-19 Release Form to help you make this decision and I will leave this up to your best judgement.

An additional amount of $3 per session will be charged to cover the necessary expenses to implement these new health safety protocols. Please note that in order to adhere to safety protocols, things may take a bit longer than before, and certain services will not be available. Thank you in advance for your cooperation and patience.

Before Your Appointment

  • If you have any sign of illness, or if you have had close contact with anyone showing symptoms of COVID-19 in the last 2 weeks, I will not be able to work with you. I am happy to reschedule you; please let me know with as much notice as possible.
  • If you have not been able to practice proper distancing for at least two weeks, or have engaged in any behavior that puts you at high risk for contact, please delay scheduling your appointment.
  • All necessary paperwork, including a COVID-19 Release Form and new Intake Forms, MUST be filled out and emailed to me BEFORE your appointment. COVID-19 Release Form will need to be filled out the day before EVERY appointment.
  • Please arrive at least 5 minutes early to accommodate the new screening procedures. If you arrive late, your session will be shortened accordingly. If you do not fill out paperwork before your appointment, your appointment may be rescheduled.
  • Please bring your own water if needed, but otherwise leave ALL unnecessary belongings in your car. The items you bring in MUST fit in the bin provided.
  • If you need special accommodations in terms of positioning or equipment (ex: extra bolstering) please contact me in advance so that I can prepare.

When You Arrive

  • Please text me from your car to let me know you are parked. I will text you as soon as I am ready for you to come in. No extra family members are allowed.
  • A properly fitted mask MUST be worn over your nose and mouth for your entire visit, even during the massage.  Masks may be available for purchase if you don’t bring one.
  • Please take off shoes outside and leave them on the porch during your session.
  • When it’s your turn, I will unlock and open the door for you, check your temperature and ask a few screening questions.
  • Sanitize your hands when you arrive, but please try to touch as few surfaces as possible.
  • In order to ensure proper disinfection in between each client, the restroom will NOT be available.  So be sure to use the restroom before your arrival.

During Your Visit

  • I ask that you keep conversation to a minimum to avoid unnecessary respiratory droplets in the air. If you have complex concerns that require extensive discussion, please contact me in advance to discuss them.
  • I will have a bin for you to put your clothing and all personal items in during your massage. A towel will also be available to stand on while undressing and re-dressing.
  • Tissues needed during a session will be used once and thrown away in the touch-less trashcan and hands sanitized afterwards.
  • After the session, once you are dressed use the available hand sanitizer and open the treatment door or let me know and I will open the door for you. Please stay in the treatment room while making payment.
  • For completely contactless payments, you can pay with Venmo.
  • For cash or check payments, please place cash in the supplied envelope and have checks already filled out and I will let you know where you can place them.
  • For credit card payments, please have credit card ready then sanitize your hands before using the wireless credit card reader.
  • I am happy to book your next appointment by text. I am not taking online appointments at this time.

What I am Doing

  • Temperature and symptom screening of myself and family each workday.
  • I will be wearing a mask at all times.
  • Air purifiers with HEPA filters in the treatment room to remove 99-99.97% of airborne particles.
  • Treatment room will be minimalist with removal of most porous surfaces (including floor rugs and massage table blanket) and knickknacks for ease of more thorough disinfection. Blanket available on request.
  • Touch-less closed trashcan available to keep waste from remaining exposed to the treatment room air. Treatment room is thoroughly cleaned and sanitized between each client. I have added extra time between appointments to ensure that I can carefully complete all sanitation steps and allow the air to fully circulate.

  • All high touch surfaces and massage equipment are sanitized with hydrogen peroxide, alcohol, or bleach after each session or use.
  • Hand sanitizer is available for clients. I also will sanitize my hands right before each session and after touching anything during a session.
  • Minimized conversation and contact at check in and check out.
